eXtatus came out on top of Czech Championship, which took place over the course of this weekend at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The traditional Mistrovství České Republiky (Czech Championship) had eight teams, who qualified via a points system based on placings at various offline and online events throughout the year, battle it out for 105,000 CZK (~$4,800) this weekend in Brno. eXtatus and eSuba had been the main favorites from the start. Both teams placed first in their respective groups, although not without facing some tough opposition in one of the two matches they played. Majestic Lions grabbed second place in group A after coming back from a big deficit on map three against ECLOT in the elimination match and edging Universe in the decider following another close three-mapper. On the other side, Dark Tigers took down MARVO with ease to clinch the last semi-final spot. The aforementioned favorites cruised past the semi-finals, with David "frozen" Čerňanský & co. beating Dark Tigers on Nuke (16-10) and Train (16-2) while eSuba defeated Majestic Lions 16-5 on both Inferno and Cobblestone. The two teams then went head-to-head in the grand final, where eSuba grabbed Inferno following a nail-biting double overtime battle before eXtatus shut them down on Mirage. It came down to Nuke, which either team had barely played in recent times, and it was eXtatus who confirmed their No.1 position in Czech Republic and Slovakia after another close affair.
